Visit Cap de Formentor on Mallorca

Cap de Formentor, or also called the ‘Formentor Peninsula’ is in the northern tip of the island of Mallorca. This nature park is north of the town Port de Pollença and near Alcúdia. This peninsula is known for its beaches, hikes and cycling routes as wel as the Formentor Lighhouse.

WHY DO WE LIKE CAP DE FORMENTOR?

We like Cap de Formentor (Formentor Peninsula) because of it’s long, windy road up to the Formentor lighthouse and the most northern tip of the peninsula. And because of the many hiking and cycling possibilities in this nature park and we just love the popular beach with soft sand along a crescent bay that’s lined with pine trees that provive shade on Platja de Formentor. It could be that when you arrive on this beach, you don’t even want to go further.

Before going you have to know that the route to get there is very beautiful but you have to go slowly since it has many curves, this area is highly visited, so you may encounter traffic to get there and difficulty finding parking. In high season (June 1 to September 30) you can only drive by car until 10am. Then there will be public transportation that will take you to the lighthouse.
